Top Things To Look For In A Luxury Watch- Medium Range Luxury

Once you are familiar with passion and tastes of wristwatches, you surely have higher expectations. You will find that Replica Watches Reviews are the best way to own a perfect luxury watch within your budget. As you enter into the world of horology, you will realize few things. Among such things you will prefer mechanical movements over simple quartz movement and the names are going to attract you when it comes to owing favored watches. If you are looking to buy watch for $1000 or more, these are the factors you need to consider in getting a medium range luxury watch.

1.    Mechanical Movement

Watches for $1000 or over mostly have a mechanical movement. If the watch doesn’t have one, you should go with special type of quartz movement like Super-quartz. Quartz movements are more accurate and reliable but mechanical watch movement don’t need a battery and represents the classic way of watch making. Such watches also offers a certain emotional value with tick tick ticking of a quartz watch simple can’t offer.

2.    Anti Reflective Coating

Glare is the enemy combatant here and you want a bit of it while reading the face of the watch. Compare the dial of a higher-end with medium luxury watch in the light and you will find the answer. Similar to the (AR) anti reflective coating on glasses, on watch crystals, the coating improves legibility dramatically. AR coating is applied to the two places, being on the rear and front of a crystal. Everyone wants the coating on both sides but you should care about the bottom preferably. There is one issue with AR coating that it can wear or scratch off and need to be reapplied. In some cases, a new sapphire crystal is required if you beat up the watch too much. Lastly, a curved sapphire crystal refers to the “double AR coating” (applied on the both sides of the crystal).

3.    Screwed Links In Bracelet

This a common concept found in most of the watches. Metal bracelet is made of links connected to each other. There are two types of items used to grip together that are pins or screw bars. Pin is a small rod available in variety of styles and qualities. Pressure is applied with the help of small hammer or device which inserts them into the bracelet. In order to adjust the bracelet, a tiny pressure tool is used to move pins and also to reinsert them. Small screw bars are inserted into the bracelet with the help of small screw driver. They are best because of the high quality, nice appearance and also last for long time. If you have proper tools then you can easily adjust both types of link bars. Heat sensitive glue is used sometimes to hold screws in place and must be heated up for unscrewing.

4.    Chronometer Certification

The feature is not common in medium range luxury watches but the addition can increase the reliability and valve of your watch. In-fact, very few number of Swiss watches have COSC Chronometer certified. In Chronometer certification process, a watch movement is sent to COSC where it is rested for period of days. The movement is tested in various different positions. Each movement has the specific testing which means that it is more than a simple testing of a movement design. The watch’s rate results are observed during the test to determine overall accuracy of the movement. In order to be Chronometer Certified, the movement must be accurate within -4/+6 seconds/day on average in all positions. It means a movement must not gain more than 6 seconds or lose more than 4 seconds a day. If a watch is not COSC certified, it doesn’t mean it will fail the test but the movement has not been used in COSC testing.

5.    High Quality Case Finishes and Polishes

Chromed metal was super mirror polish on steel which was really hard to achieve and needed to be properly polished. It was hard and beautiful and the look of chrome was very famous but at some point, imitative chrome was invented. The fake chrome was a cheap coating. The same concept is applied to the nice looking watch surfaces. In a bit higher level, watches have milled steel blocks with precision cut and polished by hand. In cheap watches, stamped or injection molded metal is used which is neither nice nor durable. If the underneath metal is better, it will be polished and finished on the surface in a better way.

6.    SuperLumiNova Luminant

If a watch features a luminant compound applied to the face or hands, it doesn’t mean the timepiece will glow perfectly in the dark. For instance take a look at cheaper watches around you, they will glow for 10 seconds and then gradually glow in a dull manner for 5-10 minutes. This is not a good luminant feature and when you are going to invest $1000, you really deserve a quality lume in luminant applied watch. SuperLumiNova is one of the best luminants. It is surely the most famous quality luminant but not the only one available. If there is luminant with good reputation with other names, you can choose them. A wristwatch should have enough layers of luminant and must be on a large surface area. Checking a luminant is simple. Just cup your hands over the watch is enough to have the shine of luminant pop out. So, always buy a watch with a reliable luminant compound.

7.    Brand Pedigree

Most people are familiar with those mainstream brands and there are also many lesser known brands which are sometimes far better than the mainstream brands. There are countless brands out in the market and it makes hard to rely on alone name recognition whether the brand is worth getting. If you are not good with brands then see the story behind it and also the stories behind the designs.

8.    Observable Dial and Movement Decoration

Mid range luxury must have some manner of decoration. This can be automatic movement rotor with special polished finish or a textured dial on the watch face. Such little features add more valves to the watch and also refer to the efforts used in the little touches. Look for machine engravings on the dial and variety of potential polishes on the movement. Even the legendary Rolex Submariner wristwatch has a sort of decoration on the movement rotor. These features makers your watch even more memorable to you.

9.    Unique Design

There are basically there types of watch designs. First are the basic original designs that are not based on any type of specific watches from the past. Such types of watches are mostly mixture of designer’s own interpretation of watch making and classic watch genres. The second category is an homage watch which is a replication on iconic, emblematic or any specific watch. The third category includes timepieces which are a mixture of well known styles or look and then adds their own twist. Usually every watch falls into these three categories. There are varieties of homage watches that you will find in entry level luxury watch range but in mid level luxury watches there is much originality in the timepieces.

New 2016 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Watch

The wait is over for Rolex watch lovers after the Basel World 2016 when Rolex launched its Air-King at the fair. These Replica Watch Reviews are intended to help in understanding the new model of the Rolex. Rolex has launched its new model with few very interesting ways. Though is not attractive as new Rolex Datejust 41 or Rolex Daytona but it is a surprise package with features that no one would expect from the Swiss king.

Rolex make changes and updates the timepieces at a perfect time when they are needed and the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King is a perfect example of it. One of the most prominent complaints about Rolex Air-King was that the case diameter of 34mm was not large enough for the latest trends. The task was not new for the Swiss master but instead of releasing an upsize model, the old model was dropped and just after two years a brand new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King was released with few enchanting features but 40mm- wide case was the most notable one. Rolex wants the Air-king’s larger dial to read clear and loud. The previous model of Air-King was extremely conservative with a bit scaled down appearance. But the new design is much bolder and attractive of 2016 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King. This model also fits perfect between the Rolex Milgauss and the Rolex Explorer l.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King re-debuted with a single version with an eye catching black dial. The 40mm wide case is virtually the same as of the Rolex Milgauss and the dial sports with the same polished 3-6-9 as is present in Explorer l. But surly it is an interesting mixture. The mixture of minute and hour markers on the same scale is an unusual design from Rolex. Rolex has the right to be proud on its rich history of tried and proven tool watch designs that made it the highest spots on planet earth. However, this new Oyster Perpetual Air-King with its dial designs appears to be misfit in the range of tool watches. One can hardly deny that reading an hour or only double digit minute markers on its dial is rather easier than noticing single digit hours at some places while minute markings at others.

The movement used in Air-King is the 3131 caliber that operates at 28,800 vph and also has the reserving power of 48 hours. Just like all other Rolex watches, the Air0King is first tested by COSC and then by Rolex Superlative Chronometer certification. This latter new test refers to the fact the watch will be tested to run between -2/+2 seconds per day. Being an entry level Rolex, the Air-King Ref.116900 is an appropriate model for those who couldn’t get into the previous model with smaller 34mm case size. The new hour and minute markers may take a little time to get used to but this is not a big problem at all. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King with one black dial and a classic Oyster bracelet has a price of 5, 99 Swiss francs (including tax).
