New 2016 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Watch

The wait is over for Rolex watch lovers after the Basel World 2016 when Rolex launched its Air-King at the fair. These Replica Watch Reviews are intended to help in understanding the new model of the Rolex. Rolex has launched its new model with few very interesting ways. Though is not attractive as new Rolex Datejust 41 or Rolex Daytona but it is a surprise package with features that no one would expect from the Swiss king.

Rolex make changes and updates the timepieces at a perfect time when they are needed and the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King is a perfect example of it. One of the most prominent complaints about Rolex Air-King was that the case diameter of 34mm was not large enough for the latest trends. The task was not new for the Swiss master but instead of releasing an upsize model, the old model was dropped and just after two years a brand new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King was released with few enchanting features but 40mm- wide case was the most notable one. Rolex wants the Air-king’s larger dial to read clear and loud. The previous model of Air-King was extremely conservative with a bit scaled down appearance. But the new design is much bolder and attractive of 2016 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King. This model also fits perfect between the Rolex Milgauss and the Rolex Explorer l.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King re-debuted with a single version with an eye catching black dial. The 40mm wide case is virtually the same as of the Rolex Milgauss and the dial sports with the same polished 3-6-9 as is present in Explorer l. But surly it is an interesting mixture. The mixture of minute and hour markers on the same scale is an unusual design from Rolex. Rolex has the right to be proud on its rich history of tried and proven tool watch designs that made it the highest spots on planet earth. However, this new Oyster Perpetual Air-King with its dial designs appears to be misfit in the range of tool watches. One can hardly deny that reading an hour or only double digit minute markers on its dial is rather easier than noticing single digit hours at some places while minute markings at others.

The movement used in Air-King is the 3131 caliber that operates at 28,800 vph and also has the reserving power of 48 hours. Just like all other Rolex watches, the Air0King is first tested by COSC and then by Rolex Superlative Chronometer certification. This latter new test refers to the fact the watch will be tested to run between -2/+2 seconds per day. Being an entry level Rolex, the Air-King Ref.116900 is an appropriate model for those who couldn’t get into the previous model with smaller 34mm case size. The new hour and minute markers may take a little time to get used to but this is not a big problem at all. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King with one black dial and a classic Oyster bracelet has a price of 5, 99 Swiss francs (including tax).
